Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for the TipHaus ETA Program

Starting in April 2026, all TipHaus accounts with the ETA (Earned Tip Access) program must use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to initiate payouts. This article explains how to enable 2FA on your account.

Starting in April 2026, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is required for all TipHaus accounts with the Earned Tip Access (ETA) program. You must enable 2FA before you can initiate payouts. Verification codes are sent to your account's email address each time you sign in.

Prerequisites

  • 2FA is required only for accounts with the ETA program activated. Non-ETA accounts can enable 2FA from the Profile window, accessible via the drop-down in the top-right corner of the client dash. 2FA will be required for all client-dashboard users in the near future.

  • You must have access to the email address associated with your TipHaus account. Verification codes are sent there.

What is 2FA?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA, also called MFA) adds a second layer of security to your account. After enabling it, you will enter a time-sensitive 6-digit verification code — sent to your email — every time you sign in to the TipHaus Client Dashboard at client.tiphaus.com.

How to Enable 2FA When Prompted at Payout

If you have not yet enabled 2FA, a setup banner will appear the next time you attempt to initiate a payout. Follow these steps:

  1. Review the banner. It displays the email address where your verification codes will be sent. Confirm you have access to that email address.

  2. Check the checkbox that reads I understand that I will receive verification codes via email.

  3. Click Enable. A Waiting for email confirmation banner will appear and you will be redirected to the sign-in screen.

  4. Check your email for a message with the subject line TipHaus: Enable Two-Factor Authentication.

  5. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication in the email. Your account now has 2FA active. From this point forward, you will receive a 6-digit verification code by email each time you log in.

How to Enable 2FA from Your Profile (If You Missed the Initial Prompt)

If the setup banner is no longer appearing, or if you see the error MFA must be enabled to initiate payouts, enable 2FA manually from your profile:

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner of the TipHaus Client Dashboard.

  2. Select Profile from the dropdown.

  3. Click Two-Factor Authentication, then follow the on-screen steps to complete setup.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Can I opt out of 2FA?
No. Starting in April 2026, 2FA is mandatory for all TipHaus accounts with the ETA program enabled. It cannot be disabled or bypassed.

Can I use 2FA if I don't have the ETA program?
Yes. Accounts without the ETA program can enable 2FA optionally for added security. For ETA accounts, 2FA is mandatory.

What if I don't receive the verification code email?
Check your spam or junk folder. The email comes from TipHaus with the subject TipHaus: Enable Two-Factor Authentication. If you still don't see it, confirm that the email address shown in the setup banner is correct and accessible to you. Otherwise, contact our customer success team here.

What if I see the error "MFA must be enabled to initiate payouts"?
This means 2FA has not been completed on your account. Follow the steps in the How to Enable 2FA from Your Profile section above to enable it manually.

What if I no longer have access to the email address on my account?
Contact TipHaus support to update your email address before completing 2FA setup.

What if I use SSO?
SSO ETA users are also required to use 2FA to maximize account security.
