Understanding Negative Tip-Outs
On the breakdown, you may see negative tips in your Tip Pool Net and Tip Share-Net columns, but this is nothing to be alarmed about. These columns show the tips sent and received via your Tip Pools and Tip Sharing Rules for tip-earning and tip-receiving job codes.
You can hover over the blue circles for more information about each column. It is very common to see negative numbers here for tip earners, such as servers, bartenders, and baristas.

You can view a detailed breakdown by clicking on the numbers in the Tip Share-Net and Tip Pool Net columns.
This breakdown includes the Tip Sharing Rules or Tip Pools used to calculate an individual employee's take-home pay.
In this breakdown, you’ll see a list of the Tip Sharing Rules or Pools that applied to the employee (A) and each one of the checks that triggered the Rule or Pool (B).
