Edit Shift Information

The most straightforward method for editing shift information is to update it on your point-of-sale (POS) system, allowing Tiphaus to sync and override previous data automatically or by syncing manually. See: Reprocessing

Alternatively, you can edit shift information by navigating to Reporting (1) and selecting Worked Shifts (2). Find the shift you want to edit, and click on the edit button on the far right (3). Please note that any changes made in Tiphaus will not be reflected on your point-of-sale (POS) system or Time-Tracking Software.

From here, you can edit the job code, clock-in and clock-out times, and add declared cash tip amounts.

Why would you edit a shift’s information?

While Tiphaus syncs automatically with your POS to collect sales and shift data, if you notice that an employee’s job code is incorrect, you may want to edit their shift’s job code at that moment to ensure all Tip-Sharing Rules and Tip Pools trigger correctly. You will likely want to update the shift in your POS or Time-Tracking Software for wage purposes as changes to data in TipHaus will not be reflected in your POS or Time-Tracking Software.

In some instances, you may want an employee to be paid an hourly wage for one job code but be tipped out under the rules for another job code. Making a job code edit to the shift directly in TipHaus makes this possible.

You might also want to edit the shift’s clock-in and out times if you want to exclude an employee from your current tipping ruleset, by modifying the clock-in and clock-out time for them to be at the same time, the employee will have 0 minutes worked and therefore, won’t receive tip-outs since distributions are based on minutes worked.

If you are reporting cash with Tiphaus and your employee forgot to declare cash tips, you can quickly handle this in TipHaus by inputting that directly under “Cash Tips” on the shift.

Please note that any edits here will permanently override what is coming from the Point of Sale and any updates to the Point of Sale data.
