HausDirect is a service that allows you to receive your tip earnings from your employer sooner than your standard payroll. When you sign up, you designate a preferred debit card. TipHaus then uses that card to deposit your earnings whenever your employer issues a payout.

Understanding the HausDirect Payout Fees

Using the HausDirect service might include a fee called a "Payout Fee" to receive your tip earnings.

  • How is the fee applied?

    • A fee is charged each time your employer issues you a tip payout.

    • If you are required to cover this fee, you will only be charged for the first payout each day, even if you receive tips more than once in a single day.

  • How much is the fee?

    • Each payout incurs a fee of up to $1.25 to cover the cost of the transfer.

    • Your employer can choose to cover some or all of this fee as an added benefit. The final amount you pay depends on this decision.

    • To understand the specific fee you will be charged, you should speak with your manager. The fee for your organization will also be listed on the screen before you sign up.

  • How can I see how much my payout fee is and the fees I've paid?

    • In the Employee App, the "Fee per Payout" line shows the amount you are responsible for with each transaction.

    • The "Payout Fees" line shows the total fees you have paid during the current pay period.

Is there a fee-free option?

Yes. If you sign up for a Hausmoney account and use it as your preferred payout method, all of your payouts are free. Alternatively, you can opt not to sign up for the Earned Tip Access program and keep receiving your tips on your paycheck.
