Banquet and Event

In order to manage event tips in TipHaus, you'll need to distinguish event workers from the rest of your staff by creating a unique set of event job codes! Once these job codes are in place, you can use them to create specialized tip distribution logic to handle your special event needs!

The biggest issue with running things this way is that if an employee is running an event, they will not also be able to attend to their regular tables. It will need to be one or the other.

Have situations where you need your staff to work events and standard service at the same time? Check out our Events and Teams functionality!

Creating and Using Unique Job Codes

  1. Start by creating a different set of Job Codes for your events for your employees to clock in to, something like Event Server, Event Bartender, Event Host, etc.

  2. Make sure that your employees are clear about your organization's clocking in/clocking out policies. To distribute and receive event tips via event-specific rules, they will need to be clocked in under an event job code.

Note*: If desired, it is possible for event job codes to tip out to a non-event job code and vice versa.

  3. Create specific rules for those Event Job Codes and remember to include tip-outs to supporting roles that may not be directly interacting with the event, i.e., the cooks.

A typical set of event tip-out rules might include rules to handle the following tip distributions:

  1. Event Servers/Bartenders to Event Bussers

  2. Event Servers/Bartenders to Event Runners

  3. Event Servers/Bartenders to Event Coordinator

  4. Event Servers/Bartenders to Back of House (Cooks, Prep Cooks, Dishwashers)

  5. Event Servers to Event Bartenders

Using event job codes to manage event tips works for most of the event Tip-Distribution scenarios we see at TipHaus. For the rest, check out our Events and Teams functionality.
